Our Pastor

Pastor Nixon was born on October 10th, in Huntsville Al., to proud parents Philip and Margaret Nixon. He grew up in the Seventh-Day Adventist church and is a product of Adventist education, having attended Oakwood from elementary school through college.

At the age of 16, he experienced what proved to be a life altering event. After going to the doctor for a minor surgical procedure, it was discovered that he was in the fourth stage of Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a form of cancer. Through much pain and many prayers, he was healed from the disease - for which he gives God all the glory. He believes that God spared his life because He has a specific purpose for him. As a result, Pastor Nixon seeks to live everyday to God's glory as a steward of the time he has been given.

While a freshman attending Oakwood University, Pastor Nixon felt the Lord's call on his life to enter into pastoral ministry. As a result, he pursued and received a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Theology with an emphasis in Pastoral/Evangelistic Ministry in 2011. In the same year, he accepted an offer to pastor in the South Atlantic Conference. He began serving the Washington and Canaan Heights Seventh-Day Adventist churches in both Washington and Thomson, GA. He served in this capacity until 2013.

In December 2015, Pastor Nixon finished the Master of Divinity requirements, and received his degree from the Seventh-Day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University.

In January 2016, he was installed as pastor of the Franklinton/Smithfield district in North Carolina. In December of that same year, the district was realigned. moving him to his current position as pastor of both the Mt. Hebron and Franklinton Seventh-Day Adventist Churches.

Pastor Nixon has been blissful married for  5 years to the love of his wife, Hannah-Leen (Lin). Second only to accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, marrying the former Hannah-Leen (Lin) Smalley of Atlanta Ga., is what he calls, the best decision of his life . Their union has also brought into this world a beautiful, joyful, and energetic son named, Philip.
